People that work in music and the Arts are the biggest consumers of news from traditional sources, such as national TV stations and the national press – although those in the travel and tourism industry spend the most time news gathering and from the broadest range of sources during the typical week, according to new research.
The findings are from new media research by elephant, which explores now people consume and react to the news and the media they choose to engage with. For summer 2025, the research has explored the media habits of people that work in different industry sectors and the findings revealed a range of interesting and varied typologies that are specific to each sector.
The sectors explored included: The Public sector, music and the Arts, professional services, financial services, retail, tech, hospitality, food and travel. The full report will be available to clients at the end of June.
