Since day one we never wanted to be just another PR agency. Our difference wouldn't be defined by the way we presented or marketed ourselves. The very essence of the way we work is based on five authentic principles.

Every communications programme we run focuses on helping clients to clearly understand how PR and communications can directly support business goals. We have helped dozens of brands to have that lightbulb moment, and to see communications as a vital component of business success, commercially, reputationally and operationally. The brave and heavyweight thinking on the big issues has led many client executives to feedback that we are different to previous agencies they have worked with in the past.

Evidence-based consulting

We are obsessive about insight. We commission hundreds of our own polling studies to understand how business and consumer audiences feel about a wide range of issues and events. Our media targeting advice is underpinned by a decade's forensic research. We also track key trends across a range of sectors. The result - our advice to clients is always based on sharing evidence-based insights - and from a huge proprietary data archive that is exclusive to our clients. We share knowledge and define logical solutions with clients - we don't just come up with fluffy ideas and tell clients what they should do.

Measurable impact

Beyond our heavyweight thinking, the impact of our work leaves a big footprint. All our assignments work to clear and meaningful measures of success. We report on progress against plan regularly, often before it is expected or asked for. In an age where client budgets have to be accounted for, we have a reporting and evaluation process that means clients are never left guessing what their agency is doing or whether the work they are doing actually makes a difference.

Trusted advisor

Great relationships are about the people involved – and with us it’s a marriage not a honeymoon. We are fun to work with, there is room for laughs but we get serious when helping clients tackle the big issues. Every consultant at elephant is hands-on and we don't pitch and switch account teams. Discretion

We don't win clients to leverage them in our marketing - our commitment to clients is to advise them well. The first press release we write for a new client is not about our appointment in the marketing press - the first release is always a client story. The magic in what we do is between us and the client. It may make us one of the best kept secrets in our sector, but our focus is always to promote our clients - not to promote ourselves through the client names we have on our client list. We are a totally client-focused business.
